Claire Harrington
Passed away peacefully at home aged 22years, 2.55am Sunday 6th January 2008. Claire lived with the two people who loved her more than words can say, Mum,Carolyn and myself, older sister, Louise.
Claire fought her disease so bravely, Mum received the diagnosis of Juvenile Batten’s Disease when Claire was 9 years old, which was to eventually rob her of everything. We carried on with our normal life and went for days out to the zoo, shopping for clothes, listening to Disney CD\'s, watching Disney DVD\'s, playing with her toys and Lego (Mum and I stood on it plenty of times barefoot, OUCH!), to mention a few. Claire loved going on holiday and we went to Walt Disney World in Florida where Claire met Mickey, Minnie and Co, she also went to Disneyland Resort Paris numerous times, she loved going there and she got plenty of attention from all the characters!!
When Claire was unable to do something for herself, Mum and I done it for her, personally the hardest thing for me was when Claire lost her speech, as she was always singing and chatting away. Then there was a gradual silence....even though Claire was not vocal anymore she could still communicate, her dazzling smiles lit up the room!!!
Losing Claire has been the hardest thing I have ever had to face in my life, i miss her everyday and talk to her all the time. I will never forget her and will carry her in my heart till the end of my days.

claire, through no choice of my own, i never knew you. I am so sorry for the way things turned out. If it were up to me things would be different for everyone. I may never have met you or known you, but at the end of the day you're still my sister. I still hurt when i think of you, i still cry for you and I'll never forget you. I honestly wish things had been different but I know you're happy up there. Singing and dancing around.

May 1st we held a special night 'A NIGHT FOR CLAIRE' we done it in your memory to raise money for Claire House, we raised alot of money.
